Automessages from outlook

Hi

Is it possible (simply) to send an automated message to anyone who sends us
an e mail "if they are not on our safe list".

The problem is - we are getting around 1500 spam mail each day to our
company and it would be a problem to change our mail address - so we are
looking for a way to reject anyone not on the safe list. BUT these "may" be
e mails from our customers so we thought we could auto mail them back (if not
on the safe list) to say please telephone us if they would like to be put on
the safe list.

We really need to do this or we can see a time when we just have to stop
accepting e mail due to the high volumn of spam.

Many thanks

An auto response would serve to authenticate your address to any spammers
who have a valid return address - most will be invalid addresses, or
addresses belonging to some one who is infected - you will then be
propogating spam.

Perhaps look at anti spam software or using rules more affectively.
Or switch to an ISP that has spam/virus built in at its servers, and have
your existing mail redirected through this.

Hi

Thanks for the input. I really didn't think of that (that we would be
confirming our address). Good point.

I think the problem started when we used a htm page for feedback from our
site. We now have moved to asp (with hidden address) so this "may" stop any
new "stuff". The problem is that we are now on all these lists that get sold
around all over the place.

We have looked at so many type of anti-spam software but nothing seems to
work. We get many bookings via our website (now on asp) that we really do
need to sort this out.

Many thanks again for you input

The problem is working out who is a customer and who is not (spam).

It's a problem
