Automating Mail Merge query

Hi! Is there any way to automate the running of Mail Merge? Automating the
running of the underlying query is no biggie. But Mail Merging has so many
steps for the user, I'm just curious if automation can be done.

With VBA, practically anything is automateable, it's just time and patience.
We've tried several coding methodologies for merging. They're nothing to
brag about, but they get the job done, and the client is happy.
