I have a Win2K server acting as a front-end / Web server for a database
located on another machine. That database has to be accessed through a
network share mapped as drive L: (internal database issue, UNC doesn't work,
I tried). The front-end service works fine as long as I am logged on and
drive L: is mapped correctly. If I log off, drive L: disappears and the
service can't find the database anymore [quite expected].
Problem: the server restarts once in a while e.g. due to power interruptions
or after virus check updates, etc. Each time, the database is unavailable
until I log on again - might be a long weekend. I need to increase the
database's availability - get closer to unattended operation.
Is there a way to either:
a) Map a network share as drive L: including my access rights without anyone
logged on to the server ? Or
b) Automatically log me on to the server after a restart ?
