Automatic Variable Substitution

Is there a way to have Word 2007 automatically insert text for a variable in
a document instead of search and replace? For example, in a predefined
space, there is a question,..such as.. what is the client's name.... Then
you type the name and that name is inserted every where the variable is
designated in the document......their would probably be twenty variables.
