I've inherited an access database which was working fine until recently.
Suddenly it is no longer updating and creating the next available field in
certain areas. It is showing the new entries as per normal but they have
to be entered manually and are stuck on one particular field. How do I
reactivate this facility to ensure no duplication of entries? I am not in a
position to contact the previous user of the database.

Karen:

I would venture, without someone taking a look at the db, it is going to be
difficult to give you an answer as to what has happened, and how to correct
it.

How much do you know about Access? Is there someone else available that
knows Access? There are just far too many possible issues. I don't know
where to start.

You might try doing a repair and compact. That often helps odd
problems. Has there been any changes to your access to the database? Does
it require a password?
