Automatic Update Error SP2

I have successfully install SP2 on over 100 machines with
no problems. However, I hit my first glitch today.

After install SP2 on XP Home, I get the red X because my
Automatic Updates are turned off. I click "Turn On
Automatic Updates" and it tells me it cannot enable them,
to go to system and click on the AU tab.

I do this, and the AU are set to Automatically download
and install. I have turned them off and back on from this
tab, but no changes to the security alert.

Any suggestions?
