Automatic saving of a written and sent message to the sent folder

Outlook 2003 does not save regular messages in the sent folder just those
that you reply to unless for each message you go into properties and check
the box. How does one correct this?
 
Tools | Options | Preferences tab | Email Options ... "save copies of ..."
