When I start up my computer, XP loads as usual. Then
Somehow the welcome screen is bypassed and the
Administrator login is opened automatically.

How do I stop this from happening without disabling the
Administrator account so I can have the welcome screen
opened first?

Disable auto-logon and set a password for your user account [if not set already]

Method 1:
Click [Start] [Run] type:
"rundll32 netplwiz.dll, ClearAutoLogon"

Method 2:
Click Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2", and click Ok.
ENABLE "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option, and click Ok.
