automatic link renaming in FP2003 is broke

I am working on a large local website which has 30,000+ links and 5-6000 pages. When renaming pages, FP2003 does ask if I want to have all the links changed so the links will not be broken but after waiting a very long time it finally completes but never works. My broken hyperlink error report is huge and continues to grow (1000's). There would not be any if this did what it says it is doing! The website hyperlink report diagram still shows links to these pages that were renamed (using the old name or files that were deleted). Just to test, I created 2 brand new pages and linked one to the other and renamed the second. It worked for that one page.

This site is on a critical deadline

I do not see any service packs for FP2003 yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

did you tried Recalculate hyper links( Tools-> recalcuste Hyperlinks). If
you already tried this option and still you are getting the same error
message. then there can be some problem in your website itself . Try
publishing the site to a new location

one more question, is your website content on a UNC path???
