automatic format of colon

how can i format the cell with automatic colon in in every secon
alphanumeric

when i type>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 00ED078125EA
FORMAT MUST BE THIS >>>>>>> 00:ED:07l:81:25:E
 
Since the entry is alphanumeric, XL treats it as Text, and no formatting
will give you what you're after.

You could use a Worksheet Event macro to modify the entry to include
colons, but that would actually change the entry, which formatting does
not. Is that what you're after?
 
Have you rejected John McGimpsey's suggestion or did you not see his posting?

If you did see it, are you having a problem implementing it?
