Automatic deployment to PDA in a network environment

Hello,

Maybe this isn't the correct group to ask this but it's for a .NET Compact
Framework application we are developing.

What I need is an application that runs on desktop login that sets up a PDA
application installer that installs the PDA app (and additional config
files) on the PDA as soon as the PDA gets cradled (or directly if the pda is
already cradled).

Basically we work in a network and everyone needs to have the latest
software on their PDA's. So when users log on to the network on their
desktop computer we automatically want to install new files and program
updates to the users' PDA (without user intervention!). Ofcourse when the
PDA is not connected at that time the update needs to be suspended and
automatically resumed as soon as the PDA connects. Are there any solutions
to accomplish this?

I think it is possible to do this with ActiveSync but I couldn't find any
documentation on how to do this. Or maybe there are custom third party
solutions to accomplish this?

JV,

if you want to update the devices when craddled, this can be done using
RAPI.
(there's a sample on www.opennetcf.org how to copy files etc. via RAPI)
