Automatic calculation

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me. For some reason, the automatic
calculation option on my Excel spreadsheet keeps changing itself to
manual. Does anybody have any idea why this might keep happening?
(Sorry, I know my question is quite vague).

Hi

The setting in the first file opened in an Excel session, sets the value
for the Calculation option.
If sometimes, the first one you open is set to Manual, that is why your
settings will normally be automatic, but sometimes manual.

Ah right, so chances are I've opened somebody else's spreadsheet who's
already got the option set to manual and then opened mine. Brilliant,
