hello please could anyone tell me if there is a way to tell a pc to go into
standby after downloading on the internet after about 10 hours any help

Search for "Download managers"
Most will have this feature and will allow you to resume download if
interrupted.
 
thankyou for the reply is there any way to do it without useing a download
manager thankyou
