automated email reminder for monthly meeting

The pastor of my church would like to set up a reoccuring
monthly meeting with elders (outside of the church email
service) and have an email generated automatically
generated one week prior to the meeting to remind them.
If all elders used outlook they would receive the
reminder from the meeting, but we can't count on them
having outlook. Therefore, if an email was automatically
generated 1 week in advance, they would get a reminder.

Is there a way to automate this email reminder?
