Autologon=yes not working.

I've run into a problem attempting to image using sysprep.

I created an image for desktops at our company and used sysprep to get it
ready for any hardware. it works perfectly for the desktops, but didn't work
for the laptops. I figured out that they have a different component that
won't allow it to work, so I had an idea. I loaded the PRE-sysprep image
from the desktop (that won't work). Then I ran XP off the disk and performed
a repair installation. I configured a few things, and then I ran sysprep
(the same file I used for the desktops), but when I put the image on the
machine, the autologon=yes doesn't seem to be working.

I have autologon=yes, and AutoLogonCount=3. This works just fine on the
desktop, but I can't seem to get it to work on the laptops. I used the exact
same sysprep.inf file and when the image gets to the logon point, it puts in
administrator, but doesn't put in the password.

Any suggestions?

AFAIK you can' t use a password in the answer file when you want to use
autologon.

Works fine for our other image....

from Microsoft's site about sysprep.inf:
AutoLogon

Value: Yes | No

Sets up the computer to automatically log on once with the Administrator
account if set to Yes. The default behavior is No. This key is not valid on
upgrades.

Note:

. If you specify a password by using AdminPassword, that password is
used when you automatically log on. After the installation is complete, the
password is deleted from the copy of the answer file left on the computer.

. If AdminPassword = * (is blank) and AutoLogon = Yes, the computer
logs on only one time. However, if AdminPassword = <password>, the computer
logs on repeatedly and the non-blank password is saved in the registry.
