Excel Autofilter in protected shared excel 97

I have some VBA that will allow you to autofilter in protected sheets in a workbook in excel 97

However when you share the workbook, on re-opening the file you get runtime error 1004.

Does anyonme have a solution to being able to autofilter in a shared workbook when worksheets are protected
