autofilter above 1000 words

How can i increase the autofilter capability to go beyond 1,0000 words? My
dbase has 10K+ records with more than 1000 different entires. I want to be
able to allow the autofilter to be activated so the users can locate related
items faster. At a minimum I need at least 2,000 words, but prefer at least
a 10,000 word library to be covered by the autofilter. Thanks in advance for
your help!

An AutoFilter list will only show 1000 unique values, and there's no way
to increase that limit. However, there are a few workarounds here:
