autofill

The old autofill worked great because you could tell it to copy down a formula sequentially only changing the one value you wanted. Office XP apparently doesn't do this anymore. Now its a time consuming find and replace or other manual methods. has any one found a solution. The autofill options does not allow for my example, it does allow for steps but thats not what I'm interested in.

Thanks

AFAIK, autofill in Excel 2002 works the same as it did in previous
versions. Can you type an example of a formula that you're trying to
copy down, and having problems with?

In your formulas, use absolute references ($A$2) for the references that
shouldn't change, and relative references (A2) for the references that
should change, and you can fill down by dragging the autofill handle.

Also make sure Tools>Options>Edit>Settings>"allow cell drag and drop" is
checked.

Although, this unchecked should not affect Edit>Fill functions, just drag/copy
functions.
