autofill dates

While in Word or any other MS Office XP application, dates no longer autofill as they once did. I can type "January " and sometimes the rest of the date shows up and sometimes it does not. Sometimes I can type even more and it will show, but often does not. Used to work fine. Have reloaded Office, which made no differance. Any ideas?

This feature is hit or miss at best. A more reliable method of inserting
the current date is to type in a { CreateDate } field, right click and
toggle the field code, select it, press ALT+F3, and save it as an AutoText
entry. You can call it Date or whatever you choose. The field code
brackets { } for creating the field are entered with CTRL+F9
