Autofill alphanumeric prefix in Excel

I need to add a prefix that starts with alpha and ends in 1,2,3 etc. I have figured out how to add the prefix, but it remains on number 1.

in row 1:
="a"&ROW()

If you start from another row then
="a"&ROW(A1)
