Autodcomplete doesn't work on my recently purchased Word 2007

I recently purchased the student-discounted version of Office 2007. In Word,
the Autocomplete feature doesn't work. Is it me or the program? Thanks.

It's the program. Autocomplete does not work in Office 2007. To insert an
autotext entry type sufficient unique characters of its name and press F3.
