autocomplete name doesn't suggest a name in the Contact list

In Outlook 2003, when I type in a name in the To area it doesn't suggest a
name which is in my contacts or phone book. It seems that it will correctly
perform AutoComplete name suggesting for a period of time but when that name
isn't used for a while it stops doing so. Also, in Outlook Express, if you
type in a name even once, such as in a reply to an e-mail, it will do
AutoComplete name suggesting, but that isn't the case for Outlook; the name
has to be stored in the address book or contacts for it to AutoComplete.
Is there any way around these issues in Outlook 2003?

Autocomplete doesn't look up anything in your address book. It relies on a
cache of addresses you've entered/used before. Autoresolve should do what
you wish - type the first few letters of the person's name and press the
Check Names button or Ctrl+K.

Outleook Express is an entirely different program, despite the unfortunately
similar name, and does things its own way.

Autocomplete does not use your Contacts data. It uses a name cache
dreived from messages you have previously sent.
If yours isn't working, you have a corrupt profile or have turned the
feature off. Create a new profile.

In addition to what my colleagues have suggested go to Tools | Options | E-
mail Options | Advanced and make sure you have Suggest Names While
Completing... checked.
