Autocomplete Enabled But Doesn't Work

I have Autocomplete enabled in IE, but it acts as if it is not enabled.
I always have to type in full names, searches, passwords, etc.
The options are selected. They are not greyed out.
Any suggestions?

Windows 2000 (will current patches etc0
Internet Explorer 5.5

You need previous entries for it to work from. If you have some
"privacy" software running to remove all traces of your activities then
you will have to build it new everytime. If this is not the case you may
wish to post your problem over at the Internet Explorer newsgroup/community.
