Autocomplete cache out of sync with AD

Hello,

We have a problem. When an Active Directory distribution group
membership changes, this change does not update in users which have
the group membership data (retrieved when clicking the [+] next to the
group name) in their Outlook autocomplete cache.

Deleting the item from the cache, closing and reopening Outlook,
typing in in the group name and using "Check names" works to fetch the
new data, but we cannot possibly ask our users to do this every time a
change is made in AD.

This is with Outlook 2010 users, our Exchange is 2003.

Is there a way to force the autocomplete cache to fetch fresh
membership data from Active Directory? Any other workaround?

Thanks.

P.S.: Please note that I have googled for this before asking the
question so please refrain from pointing me to check there.

LP,
Jure

Hi Jure,Curious to know if you ever found a satisfactory fix for this? I ask because I have exactly the same problem with Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2003. Previous versions of Outlook (2003 for example) were not supposed to cache distribution lists but perhaps 2010 cannot identify what is and what is not a distribution list with Exchange 2003.I asked this question on Experts Exchange and got no answer - it seems to be a bug with no fix other than turning off autocomplete in Outlook which will annoy the users intensely.Phil
