AutoComplete and "Save Password" in MS Outlook

T

Thomas Spriggs

Both the AutoComplete function in IE6.0 and the "Save
Password" function in Outlook 2002 are not working. I
believe they are somehow related...if one gets fixed than
the other will probably work too.

What do I need to check or is there a fix already out
there?

I've verified the setting in IE Options to make sure
AutoComplete is checked (and then saved it) but to no
avail.

For the "Save Password" feature in Outlook (by this I
mean when you go to get your email and the password
window pops up), I continously go and check the box so it
will save your password but it never does--I have to keep
entering it over and over again.

I'm guessing some sort of registry got messed up
somewhere. Any help appreicated!!

Thanks...

Thomas

This fix applies to Outlook and other programs that store passwords
in the Protected Storage System Provider sub-branch of the Registry.
It also corrects some issues with Internet Explorer and Autocomplete.
