autocomplete address field with name or email address

Many people have email addresses that do not begin with the same letters as
there names. Auto complete does not find those unless you know their email
address, which I don't.

You don't understand. Autocomplete has nothing to do with your Contacts.
Use Advanced Find to find Contacts using any portion of their name or email
address.
