When ever I use auto text in a word document it only prints the word -
AUTOTEXTLIST and not the actual words I've used. This can be seen when I
print preview it too, but in the actual document looks fine. Can anyone help
please?

In Tools > Options > Print, uncheck the box for Field Codes.

This setting is separate and independent from the Field Codes setting on the
View tab, which controls only what you see on screen.

Thanks for your reply.

I've just tried that but it was already unchecked.

The problem isn't in the document itself. It only appears in print preview &
when printing a page. I've tried to go to tools - options - view,
in print preview but 'view' is greyed out.

Regards,

Tim

Is it unchecked in the View dialog or in the Print dialog? It needs to be
unchecked in the Print Options dialog.
