Auto Summary

How do you suppress the Auto Summary function within Microsoft Word documents?
 
What do you mean by "suppress"? Do you mean you want to make this feature
unavailable? You can remove it from the menu using Tools | Customize. You
can disable it further by creating a null macro named ToolsAutoSummarize.

Could you provide the instructions for setting up the null macro for
ToolsAutoSummarize?

Just record a macro that does nothing* and name it ToolsAutoSummarize.

*For example, it could insert a space and then backspace to delete it.
