Auto Start from a CD Cross Platform

Guest

I have a PPT presentation that I am sending out to prospective employeers and
I need it to auto start once it is double clicked. I do not want it to open
in PowerPoint.

I need this to happen on a MAC and on a PC. I have both viewers downloaded.
Do I need to write a macro for this, if so how? I am not that adept in
doing that.

Thank you in advance,
Jase

For the PC, you'd rename the file with a PPS extension. Unless you're
distributing with an autorun CD, and then you don't have to. But there's
more to creating an autorun CD than just downloading the Viewers....

If you have PowerPoint 2003 you can use its Package for CD feature to create a
CD that will autorun using the Viewer on Windows PCs when the CD is inserted.

UNLESS the user (or their IT department) has disabled AutoRun on their CD. For
them, you'll want to provide instructions or a readme file. The usual kind of
thing: "If the presentation doesn't start automatically when you insert the CD,
...yadayada"

Macs are a whole different kettle of fish. Several kettles, considering that
there's a world of difference between Mac OSX and previous versions.

Best ask in Public.Mac.Office.PowerPoint about Mac stuff.
