Auto restart

When I shutdown my XP machine, it will not shutdown,
though it says it is, but will reboot and begin as if
I've just turned it on. What's this about?

Hey Ross,

Sounds like its crashing when it shuts down and you have automatically
restart set

Go into

control panel/system/advances/startup and recovery settings

Uncheck "Automatically Restart"

You should now get a blue bug check screen.

Post all the info, name of stop error, all the 0x.. numbers, and near the
bottom it may name the driver causing the error. A filename with a .sys
extension.
