Auto response for vacation notification, occurs before spam filter

Recently, I set auto response to let people know that I was out. (BAD thing
to do .) Anyway, as spam arrived, spammers received an auto response say I
was on vacation. Now I have hundreds of "undeliverables," since spammers
never use a valid email address.

So, the question is how do I setup auto respond for vacation messages
(Outlook 2000) to occur AFTER spam has filtered the messages.

Thansk,
DDF

Don't - ask your ISP if they have a vacation message and use theirs.

After furious head scratching, DDF asked:

Please clarify your response, "Don't..."

Does the response mean that Microsoft Outloook's auto response, ignores
Microsoft Outlook's Junk Email filter by responding when messages are
recieved BEFORE filters are applied?

If so, then there is a bit of a problem with process order, so why have the
capbility?

Thanks,
Donna

Yes, the response goes out when the mail hits the in-box and THEN the rules
apply. The Out of Office Assistant is meant for corporations using Exchange
where it can be controlled via Exchange server as to who receives the
message. The workaround for home users is a poor choice and seldom produces
the results expected.
