Mike

Hi,

I have a large spreadsheet running throughout the day. I
have noticed at times the worksheet saves itself
automatically "auto recovery". Can I turn this off or
change how often it does this? (if so, how??)

thank you.

Which version of Excel are you running?

Prior to XL 2002 there was the "autosave" feature, which was an add-in that
actually overwrote the workbook at set time increments.

If this is the case, go to Tools>Add-ins and disable Autosave.

If XL 2002 or 2003 there is no "autosave" feature to overwrite the workbook.

The "autorecovery" feature saves a copy of the workbook at intervals, but
deletes the copy if Excel and the workbook encounter no problems.

This can be turned off via Tools>Options>Save. Uncheck "Settings" options and
Check "disable autorecovery".
