File Type is of no use to me. It's very annoying to see my network attached
drives scanned all the time. Windows XP is much more reasonable in this
respect. Why can't they have system defaults with the ability to set things
at the drive level?
That stupid flashlight that waves around while it looks for autoplayable
files. I just want to open the volume the same way I do a locally attached
disk -- which I can do in Windows XP because it allows me to turn off
auto-play by *drive*.
That isn't looking for an autoplay file, it's simply trying to get a listing
of contents. This is a known issue with mapped network drives in Vista and I
understand it's being addressed in SP1.
