auto front end update error

Hi there,

I'm successfully using Tony Toews' front end updater for an application used
by multiple users across the network.

All computers are on a common operating environment and all have the same
versions of Microsoft XP Pro and Micorsoft Office 2003.

All installations of Access were done the same and after using Tony's front
end updater for our app, only a select few individuals are having problems.

90% of the people are having great success, however, there are a few
individuals who are getting an error stating the following:
_______________________________________________________
DAO version 3.6 was not found on this system.

Note that DAO version does not necessarily match the Jet version.

---------- S:\Business\Forecasting\Setup\AutoUpdate.ini--------------------
[Settings]
MainApp=C:\My Database\Forecast Model.mde
Server=S:\Business\Forecasting\Misc\
StartMethod=AutoSelect
Lockout=No
LockoutMsg=Sorry, not allowed into the system right now.
SupportMsg=Please contact your computer department for support.

ShortCutName=Production Forecast Model
CreateShortCutOnDesktop=yes
CreateShortCutOnCommonDesktop=no

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Auto FE Updater Version: 1.72
Windows Version: Windows XP 5.1 build 2600 (Service Pack 2)
User: XXXXXXX
Workstn: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Would this just be a case of turning on the reference to the DAO 3.6 Object
Library for that user?

I'm a little puzzled as to why only certain people are experiencing this
error.

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

You probably need to register the DAO dll using regsvr32 on those
systems. For example regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO360.DLL".

Please post back and let me know if this did or did not help. I will
update the FAQ page accordingly.

This appears to have fixed the problem. I've had two users try this with
success.

Thanks so much for your help Tony!!
