Auto Filtering

I have tried before to get help on auto filtering however was unsuccessful.
Does anyone know why the auto filter freezes? It forces me to unfilter, unhide
rows, then refilter about 75% of the time.

Just a thought...

Check to make sure the other columns aren't filtered.
 
Thanks Patti for your reply. They are not filtered. Anything other suggestions?
