Good Afternoon All,

This is just stupid... but I can't figure out how to fill
my cells with a series. I typed:
"a" in cell A1
"b" in cell A2
"c" in cell A3
"d" in cell A4

Then I higlighted the four cells, grabbed the corner and
dragged it down about twenty rows. Every cell in the
column now has the value "a". The values in the column
should be: "a" "b" "c" "d" "a" "b" "c" "d"...

What in th world am I doing wrong?

She's right, it was stupid.

The reason she can't get auto fill to work is because she
has auto filter turned on.

With your a, b, c and d in A1:A4 select the four cells then right-click and
drag down.

Release the button and select "Copy cells" from the menu.

I am surprised you didn't get a through z sequence when you dragged down with
left button.

OR maybe you don't have the alphabet as a Custom List in Tools>Options.
