Maybe it is sufficient, maybe not. Does your ISP limit your online time?
If not, then change the modem's hangup properties. Go to the Control
Panel applet for Network Connections and double-click it to get its
Properties. There should be a setting to change the "Idle time before
hanging up" or change it to "Never".

ISP does nmot limited online time.

"Idle time before hanging up" was already set to "Never."

You will find that most people do not want to drag out details from you
over multiple posts. You will get better and more focused
troubleshooting if you provide more information at one time. However,
it can be very hard for a non-technical person to know what to include
in a post to a tech support newsgroup. Here is a link that will help
you with that:

In the meantime, here are a few general troubleshooting steps:

1. Did the modem always behave this way? If not, what changed between
the time things worked and the time they didn't?

2. Look at the modem's Properties in Device Manager. Is there is Power
Management tab? If so, uncheck the box that says "Allow Windows to turn
off this device when not in use".

3. Is the computer 100% virus/malware-free? Be sure:

4. Is the modem old? Are the drivers current? Do you get any error
messages (and what are they)?
