Auto delete items in deleted folder

I have a small network I administer remotely. I have any email coming in to
me there forwarded (by a rule in Outlook). That email then ends up in the
deleted items folder.

Is there any way to make Outlook automatically empty the deleted items?

(In my office we use Groupwise. I can set the deleted items folder options
to remove items that are over 7 days old. I haven't been able to figure out
how to do this in Outlook.)

I'm using Outlook 2003 that came with Windows Server 2003 SBE Premium. Since
I don't go in to that office much, I'm accessing Outlook via the web
interface.

Autoarchive is your friend. Set it to run every day or So. Set the folder's
properties to delete ones older than a day or two. Can also do it for junk
mail.

Thanks - I'll check into that. (You may have guessed I mostly work with
Netware - Outlook and MS Server is a bit foreign to me <g>)

I can't find anything in the Outlook Web Access interface to set up
autoarchive - is this something I need to on my next visit to the office?

Ah. You didn't mention OWA - that's part of Exchange, not Outlook - and I
think you must mean SBS, not SBE.

If you want to automatically purge deleted items, you can use mailbox
manager policies on the server side. Try posting in
microsoft.public.exchange.admin for more help, and remember to mention your
version of Exchange. I'm not sure that you can set up this rule as an option
in OWA.

Thanks - it is SBS (Netware calls their's SBE). The acronyms are taking over
