Help
My PC keeps going into auto shutdown saying there has
been a system error and it needs to close.
It comes up with the msg about a Remote Procedure Call
(RPC) and somthing to do with the NT Autority/System
file. Anybody tell me how to cure or kill the machine, it
has only started doing this since I had to restore
Windows and set up ADSL
Thanks in advance

Hi Dougal,

It's a virus called blaster or lovesan. Information:

You need the patch described here to protect against it:

MS03-039: A Buffer Overrun in RPCSS Could Allow an Attacker to Run Malicious
Programs
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=824146

Problem is, you needed to install the patch BEFORE you got infected to avoid
it.
