Auto center doesn't work

Even when I set a form's properties to AutoCenter it still aways comes up in
the upper left section of the window. I thought AutoCenter was supposed to
make forms locate in the center of their window. Does anybody know why this
isn't working for me? Thanks

It makes the form's window center within the Access window. It does not
cause the contents of the form to center within the form's window. Sounds
like you are maximizing the form in which case the top and left dimensions
are preserved and the rest of the window (right and bottom) is filled with
blank space.

Yeah, that's right. I don't really want smaller windows floating in a bigger
window. I suppose there's no way to get Access to center maximized forms, so
that a form designed to fit a 600 x 800 monitor will look decent on a higher
resolution?

Thanks

That doesn't make any difference. I think Brandt has the right answer, which
is that if a form is maximized it's going to look stupid in a hi-res window,
if it was designed to look good in 800 x 600. I hope somebody tells me
that's not the case.

Thanks for your help.

That is the case.

Why should your form designed at 800 by 600 look stupid at a higher resolution?
People use higher resolutions so they can see MORE things, not so they can see
BIGGER things. Every app they run uses less screen space (as a percentage) than
the same app runing on a lower resolution so your app is not going to throw any
surprises at them.

If you insist on running your forms maximized then the user is in complete
control of how large the Access window is and if they think it "looks stupid"
they can size the Access window so your form controls are centered.
