Hi - can someone explain to me why this occurs:

Logging on internally using XP lets say using owa I need
to use domainname\userid syntax and ofcourse password but
if I use W2K internally all I need to type is userid and
password - why??

Ideas??

I'm not sure *why* the decision was made to remove the Domain field from the
Authentication dialog box. I'm assuming that it was a cosmetic decision -
the auth box looks a lot cleaner.

Technically speaking, you have the specify the domain name as in domain\user
in XP because there's no other please to specify it

thanks Mike..that answered part of my question, hopefully
you can answer the other part

Both XP/W2K machine are logged onto the domain
(internally) why do I need to specify the domain name for
the xp box using owa but not for the w2k box..make sense?
