Guys,

how can I authorize users in an intranet to access
a web page without the username/password dialog coming
up and at the same time get the NT Login of the user

Hi Joseph,

You configure it in IIS. It's on the Directory Security tab. Click the
first Edit button and put a check in the box.

Jim,

The box is already checked in IIS but I would still
need to provide the username/password to reach the
website from a different machine in the domain.

What is wrong here

By default, your credentials are automatically passed only in the Local
Intranet zone. What zone does IE say it's in when you browse the site?
