Authenticating server

I have 5 sites and DCs in each of the sites. DNs
configured as AD integrated. Each server is a global
catalog. Users in site A are being authenticated by server
in site B, so it takes along time for the authentication.
How can I resolve this?

Are subnets assigned to sites as well computers are assigned threes subnets?
What mix of workstations do you have? and have them been upgraded or
migrated from any NT4.0 Domain?

Lanre,

As Chriss suggested, it is imperative that you set up Active Directory Sites
and Services correctly. You would need to have set up the five sites (
well, the first one is set up for you so you would have to create the other
four ). You then need to create the appropriate subnets AND then associate
each subnet with a specific Site. You also need to make sure that DHCP is
handing out the correct information to the clients.

Take a look at the following MSKB Articles:

How to configure AD Sites

How WIN2000 clients locate a DC
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=247811

How WIN XP clients locate a DC

You create Sites and place DCs in the appropriate Sites to essentially
accomplish two things: control Active Directory replication and 'assist'
user logons.

Have you placed the DCs in the appropriate Sites? I assume that you have
but want to check to make sure.

You also might want to take a look at the following MSKB Article. It talks
about generic records being registered which, if you have everything set up
*properly* might be what you are experiencing:
