Australian Telephone Numbers

A

Alan Cocks

Australian local telephone numbers are eight digits written in two groups of
four with a space between. Formatted as 0000 0000 or #### ####.
Office XP won't allow me to use either of these formats. They keep
reverting to 00 000 000 or ## ### ###.
Any ideas on how to correct this?

Hi Alan!

Why use numbers? Why not pre-format the cells as text?

Hi Alan,

Don't have a copy of Office XP here to try this on, but try using a more
explicit format like
0000\ 0000
or perhaps
#_#####

Also, check the Regional Options in Control Panel. Is your digit grouping a
comma or a space?
