Sorry to ask on this board, but I am hoping one of you has a good answer.

I am looking for a program to repair music files on CD that are messed
up by scratches. So I can copy to disk without loss and reburn

thanx

I'm sorry to say that there is no possible way to restore a badly scratched
CD. Look at it this way: when a CD is first bought, it's brand new and
scratch-free. (Like a new book when first bought.) As it's used, it will
become worn out. (Just like the book) Now imagine the scratches to be like a
burnt book. It's not possible to restore it digitally.

But I have an idea that just might work. You've probably heard of those
"scratch removing wipes" that work on keyholes, car doors, etc. I've never
tried those myself, but they just might work on a CD as well. Try it, if you
really want the CD to be fixed.
