It is a better idea to suggest to people that they download the drivers from
the manufacturer of their sound card, not a third party.

Okay, but if you click the link you notice that you are not downloading them
from the maker of the sound card, they are just categorized by manufacturer.
Someone with a Creative sound card does not need to download their drivers
from http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/companies/258.htm, but rather from
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/.

I'm not sure you understand what is criticism and what is not. What you are
doing is making more work for others. If you would like to help, please do.
But there is no need to suggest people go to a driver download site that
links to old, out-dated drivers. (Which btw only 2% of the people here are
going to know the model numbers of their sound card, so your link doesn't
really help them.)

If you would like to take this as criticism, go ahead. If you are looking
to help people (That's why you are posting here, correct?) then please link
them to a site that will really help them. The problem is with linking to
these drivers is it makes more work for others (Including you) when the
drivers do not work right, or they have a problem with them. A person who
you suggest old drivers too contacts Creative, Creative wants to know why
they are trying to install old drivers that are not from their website.
This makes a problem for Creative, and a huge headache for the person you
are "trying" to help fix a problem.

Here you go again, I did not post to REPLACE or DOWNLOAD drivers. I posted
to go to that URL to UPDATE

Chris, read my original post, I stated to UPDATE their drivers. You and I have
read many of these posts and found that one of the major problems is that
people are trying to run peripherals with outdated or obsolete drivers that are
not compatible with XP. Especially those that upgrade from older Windows
versions. Stick with me, you may learn something.

You may want to stick with yourself. All of the drivers on that page are
"outdated or obsolete". What exactly are you trying to prove? Download the
"updated" drivers from the maker of the device, not a hard concept and I'm
not exactly sure why you wish to argue about it. People don't need to
download drivers that are "categorized" by manufacturer from a 3rd party.
They need to download the drivers from the manufacturer of the device
itself.

Again, Just please suggest to people to download the drivers from the
*manufacturer*, not some random third party.
