I recently changed to Win2k from Win98, there was no such problem with the
latter. The audio regularly gives a very rapid ('machine-gun' type) stutter
which is immensely annoying. Win2k is all up to date, latest service packs
and drivers, the Creative Labs SB Live soundcard driver is also the latest.
I did think the problem may be cured using the PCI latency patch (as my
motherboard uses a VIA chipset), but that makes no difference. Note that
other activity while playing any sound makes stuttering more regular, at all
times CPU usage remains very low.
Any advice/suggestions welcome.
