audio "skips" in final dvd-help please

I have mad several DVD's with Moviemaker and am all too familar with the
music track skipping on the DVD, only noticed after hours of work and upon
placing DVD in tv. I am making slide shows with photographs. Iam inseting a
great deal of writtne text to "introduce" some of the photos. And I am
placing the music precisely where I want it on the timline for impact. There
are times in my movie where there is no sound at all, which is exactly what I
want. Is there a way to eliminate this miserable audio issue or is there
another program which will accept my moviemaker format so I can import my
already completed moviemaker format file into and do the final work on
another program in an attempt to eliminate this audio skip problem. I was
wondering if Powerpoint would allow me to import the moviemaker file or if I
can have the exact control over my movie making and editing I have with
Moviemaker. I would appreciate ALL help you can offer....I am VERY
frustrated trying to eliminate the skips.

The audio issue seems to be a side affect that happens when saving the file
as a DV-AVI. DV-AVI is the best format to use for video clips but since you
are working with still images I suggest using a high quality WMV setup.
Another reason for audio glitches could be the use of MP3's instead of WMA
files. This isn't always a problem but it does happen.
I also suggest to anybody who is working solely with still images and audio
that they check out Microsoft Photo Story 3. With PS3 you have better
control of the timing of the images with the audio and much more control
over the transitions. Since it is free from Microsoft it's worth checking
out.
