audio editor

An audio editor is software that has functions that allow you to modify the
audio quality and settings of an audio file. You cannot "connect" such
software to PowerPoint. You would use it, for example, to modify an audio
file that you want to use in a PowerPoint presentation. Perhaps you want a
sound file to "fade out" at the end. PowerPoint simply plays the file that
you hand it. However, you can use an audio editor to create the fade, save
the file, and then insert the file in your presentation using Insert >
Movies and Sounds > Sound from File.
