ATTN: Anyone using a DRU-500a/510a

Or their external counterparts. What media do you use? I have been misled by
the company I purchased mine from as the discs (Datawrite DVD-RW and Memorex
DVD-R) apparently are not compatible and, it would seem, the only discs that
are cost £5+ apiece. One of the main reasons I bought a DVD burner was that
GB-for-GB it worked out cheaper than using CDs as well as enabling me to
declutter by using seven times fewer discs.

Please tell me that I've not bought a very expensive DVD-ROM. I'm afraid I
spoke too soon yesterday as I'd not used it to burn.

If I cannot use it, except with the most expensive media available, then
it'll have to go back.

Thanks

If its new they usually improve compatiblity with firmware updates.
Thats what happened when they first came out with the drive. Some
people complained but after while they improved the compatiblity with
constant updates.

Thank you, but it hasn't and this is drive number two. I flashed the
firmware the second I fitted it, but it didn't do the trick. I've now boxed
it up and it's ready to be shipped back.

Thanks
